All about Rosie McDonald
After graduating with a B.Ed (Hons) degree in Education and Environmental Science at Bath University, I began working for a publishing house in Bristol, Venue Publishing, which specialised in lifestyle publishing, entertainment and a what's on listings magazine called Venue.
I worked for Venue Publishing for 15 years, beginning my career on classified advertisements, proofreading and copywriting advertisements, moving on to freelance writing, and proofreading a variety of articles, listings and publications. By the time I left Venue, I was working as Publications Assistant Manager on the Animation UK Directory and Magazine.
After the birth of my daughter, I relocated to Axbridge, a beautiful village on the outskirts of Bristol. I worked as a special needs teaching assistant for 5 years, consolidating my education experience, as well as working as a freelance proofreader.
After updating my proofreading skills with the Publishing Training Centre, I am now concentrating solely on freelance proofreading. I currently work with non-fiction publishers, fiction authors, and proofread catalogues, brochures and websites for businesses.
I love the variety of my work, from proofreading Pathology newsletters, to brochures, non-fiction reference and adventure in fiction!
